Financial Wellbeing has over time had many names; Financial Literacy, Financial Capability, Financial Resilience, Financial Inclusion - Financial wellbeing refers to a state of being in which an individual or household has a sense of financial security and can meet their financial obligations and goals without undue stress or anxiety. Financial wellbeing goes beyond just having enough money to pay bills or buy things, it includes a person’s ability to withstand and recover from financial shocks or hardships and having the knowledge, resilience, skills, and resources to make informed decisions about money and to plan for the future.

What is Financial Wellbeing?

At More Than Money, we embrace a financial wellbeing philosophy that recognises the adage, “you don’t know what you don’t know, but once you know it, you can’t un-know it.” As we journey through life, our relationship with money evolves and fluctuates, encompassing both ups and downs, successes and setbacks, and it is our responsibility to assist whānau in navigating these ups and downs by providing them with the most comprehensive knowledge and empowering them with confidence.
